I just finished watching "The Madness of King George"

about King George III and his mental illness/porphyria as he mourn the loss of the American colonies post Revolutionary war.

The illness takes it's toll until finally, one doctor/reverend - Dr. Willis - gives him an unconventional treatment which eventually cures him, at least for a period.

Every time the King acts unruly and blurts out obscenities, the Dr. looks him in the eye and the King knows what that means. He is going into the straight chair where he is bound and gagged until he calms down. This is done repeatedly until finally the King is "cured" and learns to behave himself.

I mentioned this because, like the King, nobody has ever stood up to Trump and told him to sit down and STFU. Like the King, everyone bowed down to him and deferred to him and he was able to get away with his outrageous behavior until finally someone came in and took charge and told him who was boss.

We thought Kelly was going to be that man, but obviously not. What Trump needs is a "Dr. Willis". Someone who is not afraid to go up against him and call him out on his bullshit. Someone who will metaphorically bind and gag him if necessary.

Just thought it was an interesting parallel. Anyway, it was a good film if you haven't seen it. I would highly recommend it.

When will you get it into your head: one can produce a copious, regular, and exquisitely-turned evacuation every day and still be a stranger to reason?

I couldn't finish the movie. That was a long time ago. I used to get frustrated. Anyway

I am thinking they were on to something, however didn't go through with it. Too much power in the hands of one individual is a dangerous thing as we are now seeing.

difference in a number of ways. Just think of all the baad people he's helped banish, like nazis Bannon and Gorka, and potential evil-doers who are having trouble getting past his guard to Trump's ear.

It's unfortunate that some apparently expected someone who aligned with this administration to be a moral person of good judgement -- by our standards. Just how far short this 4-star general (!) falls surprised me also, but he's still whoever he always was, not my new favorite demon. And I really want him there.

Someone who has no fear of him, no tolerance for his bullshit and who sees him for what he is. Someone to tell him to sit down, shut up and behave or else. I think Trump is a paper tiger. If someone actually stood up to him firmly, I don't think he would know how to handle it. The problem is that everyone has always groveled before him and he's used to it. We need somebody with a backbone and who has the strength and integrity to finally put him in his place.

I really don't think it would be hard to do. The man is a coward. You can tell by the fact that he only lashes out at people that he thinks are weaker than he is.

You're so right he's a coward, of course, and a huge weakling. He's often reminded me of the kind of timid dogs who run away and then bark ferociously from a safe distance. But he also understands very well who has the power and who does not, and he enjoys biting.

or that KELLY himself would ever be an agent of improvement. The only change and improvement will be when TWITLER and his entire crew are gone.

He needs to be given a "time out" and separated from the others. This allows 6 year olds the opportunity to reflect upon their inappropriate behavior as well as punishment from partaking in any group (which humans need and desire). However my students were usually more mature and self disciplined by the time they entered first grade than the moron who entered the White House at 71 years old. If he had been in my class I think that corporal punishment would have been reconsidered as a just form of punishment. The fucking moron is a "bad seed".

Did you know that in every other country in the world, this movie is called, "The Madness Of King George III"? Do you know why they eliminated the "III" from the American release? Because Americans kept asking why they'd never seen "The Madness Of King George, parts 1 and 2."

Any more questions about how Trump got elected?

Facepalm.

Except I think it was simply The Madness of George III. The American release was renamed for the stated reason.
