Jeff ("Even a lie is right twice a day" ) Sessions is saying: "Basically you're right, congressman: Hillary Clinton was not the Secretary of State when the majority of the donation from Uranium One was made to the Clinton Foundation, and when she was, the director at the time of the donations had long retired.. . . You're also correct that it took nine cabinet officials and department heads to approve the uranium deal and that the matter likely didn't rise to the Secretary's attention. . . You can find all that in Snopes, if you want, but that still doesn't answer the real question, the burning question: How can I keep my job through the end of the week? . . . Darn right we need a special counsel!"

Above CAPTION based on a crystal-ball reading of Sessions testimony before the House Judiciary Committee later today.

"Nobody knows the truth of that, congressman. . . . Roy Moore might have liked spending long periods at the mall because he enjoyed the food and the scent of the pumped-in air. . . . He might have liked pep rallies for the quality of music and atmosphere. . . . Custody battles might have attracted him for their high drama. . . . The truth is, we simply don't know.

"Even if I could tell you, congressman, I wouldn't for the simple reason that 'could' has several meanings like 'able to' or like 'liable to' as in the sentence 'Asking inane questions in a House hearing could expose the questioner for the ass he or she is.' . . . Next question."
