Update on Virginia House of Delegates race
In a nutshell:
94th District--Dem. Shelly Simonds trails Incumbent rep. David Yancey by 10 votes. Democrats are "optimistic" they will win this seat and Simonds would give us 50 Democrats in a Chamber of 100.
28th District--Dem Joshua Coles trails his opponent by 82 votes. This is the District that not only refuses to count 55 absentee ballots received on Election day, there is also a question of as many as 660 being disenfranchised by being given the wrong ballots to vote. A lawsuit seems likely here.
40th District--Democratic candidate Dante Tanner trails the Republican incumbent by 106 votes, or less than 0.4%. A decision has not been made on whether or not to request a recount. It seems unlikely a recount would reverse that margin.
So to recap Democrats have won 49 seats. republicans have won 48. these 3 seats will decide who controls the House. Most likely scenario a 50-50 split.
