Woman who accused Franken says she accepts his apologyBY REBECCA SAVRANSKY - 11/16/17 01:45 PM EST
The woman who accused Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) of sexual misconduct said Thursday she accepts his apology.
"The apology, sure I accept it, yes. People make mistakes and of course he knew he made a mistake," Leeann Tweeden said. "So yes I do accept that apology. There's no reason why I shouldn't accept his apology."
She said it's up to Congress to decide if it wants to have an ethics investigation into Franken's behavior, adding that she isnt calling for Franken to step down, unless more women come forward.
People make mistakes. Im not calling for him to step down. Thats not my place to say that, Tweeden said.

I'm hoping it was because he was remorseful.
OTOH, celebs(entertainers) do tend to have power in a way that average people do not. I hope this is not a pattern.

(23,548 posts)6. I remember when Al was first running for senate and Randi Rhodes from Air America
kept talking very vaguely about not liking him. I was hoping she was jealous. But, I got the sense there was a story she wanted to tell but couldn't.

(49,389 posts)7. She says, after the "incident", Franken noticed her at an event
they both attended. He walked up to her and hubby, she said "Hi Al", and then SHE walked away.
She says he could have apologized to her at that event.
