Both the right wing noise machine and the anti-American Russian propaganda machine are experts at USING it, but we need to be experts at calling it out.

Gish Galloping is a debating technique where one side makes a logical argument, and the other side, lacking any substance, simply floods the zone with bullshit. Obfuscation. They flood the information zone with NOISE. So much noise that nobody can sift through it, or fact-check even a fraction of it; and is therefore unable to spot the ACCURATE argument floating in a sea of half truths and outright lies.


Fact: Hillary Clinton was qualified to be President, and Donald Trump was not.

The counter: Russians flood the internet with fake news, and the mainstream media with hacked DNC emails.

The result: Nobody knows what's true anymore.


Fact: The Russians hacked the American election to get Donald Trump elected.

The counter: Flood the zone with bullshit about Hillary Clinton and Uranium One.

The result: Nobody knows who the REAL crook is anymore.



Fact: Roy Moore is a pervert who shouldn't be elected to the Senate.

The counter: Flood the zone with bullshit about Al Franken. (Partly true, but a total false equivalence)

The result: If EVERY Senator is a pervert, you may as well elect a pervert who'll at least pass the LAWS that you like.
