Trio to be charged with attempted murder for allegedly trying to kill unborn baby
An Anderson woman and two others were arrested on charges of attempted murder, conspiracy, robbery and felony assault in the June 20 attack on a pregnant Redding woman on the Sacramento River Trail near the Sundial Bridge, Redding police announced this morning.
Erica Swann, 29, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of robbery, conspiracy to commit a crime and battery, and booked into Shasta County jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
Swann told police at the time of last month's incident that she and Nicole Vultaggio, 18, were walking west of the bridge when they were robbed by two men.
Vultaggio was eight months pregnant at the time of the assault and was taken to Mercy Medical center where she gave birth to a premature but otherwise healthy baby.
