A re-visit to the "Deplorables"...
They resented that nickname so much.
I know today is Thanksgiving but any day is a good day for the truth. We shall know the tree by the fruit it bears.
Donald Trump is the only politician in America that can praise the KKK, condemn the "fake media", praise Vladimir Putin, criticize every minority, talk bad about our own country, speak nasty and evil words about anyone, and never lose a bit of his support. Why is that so? Is it because his supporters agree with him?
Because they are dividers, haters, homophobes, xenophobes, and every type of bad impulse that we have been trying to defeat in this country for the last 250 years.
As Chris Mathews noted on his show, there is no opportunity too trivial for him to take political advantage. He doesn't lose anything by taking on Lavar Ball. The racists still love him. He doesn't lose anything when he tosses paper towels to our fellow citizens in Puerto Rico, as if he was making basketball shots. His supporters see him as just going thru the motions because they believe that he hates "foreigners" as much as they do. His every waking moment is spent dividing our people. Just the mere mention of Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton evokes instant hatred. He knows every dog whistle and is not beyond using each and every one of them.
He tells the people of Alabama that they cannot put a "liberal Democrat" into the Senate seat. And the dog whistle that his supporters hear is that sexual assault on a child may be bad but it's not as bad as being a Democrat.
After a year, we now see the "Deplorables" much more clearly.
