Asumming it's not a stolen election and voter suppression isn't enough to stop the Dems in 2018,

Will we see massive changes in this country? I want New Deal type changes, but I fear we won't see much.

Here is my Wish List:

A. Impeachment of Sessions, Trump, Pence, etc.

B. Campaign Finance Reform, aka overturn Citizen's United.

C. Voting rights protections for all

D. Undoing any crazy GOP tax cuts

E. Expansion of medicare to as many as possible.

1. Unfortunately that's a lot of assumptions...

Somehow I view Trump as a manipulated lecherous dolt and Sessions as a fumbling racist fool and Pence a typical hypocritical evangelical Republican. Disgusting but not supernaturally menacing.

The real enemies of freedom seem more McConnell, Coryn, Thune (boy do those guys look like they just stepped out of a WW2 Nazi movie or what?) and possibly the money people behind them. It can't all be the just Mercers and the Casino guys and Prince. It's probably a Cabal (to take from THE BLACKLIST) of faceless Hedge Fund billionaire managers pulling the strings.

According to the Census ACS survey, the median household income for the United States was $53,657 in 2014, the latest data available.

If the idea is that a large % will not be employed due to automation, the UBI would need to replace current incomes.

3. The best we can hope for with 2018 is halting the errosion, and preventing further damage

2020 will be the make or break test, and to even get to that point it will be an up hill battle.

I would be happy if we were able to prevent another Gorsuch

5. Why do you think the dems will do anything different than what they've done for the past 35 years?

If the dems get any power or influence again, they will look forward & play nice. They will not boldly veer to the left, and instead, will work with the GOP in Congress. Any bills that get passed will be watered down & won't do much, except disillusion the People, who will vote the GOP back in power again the next election. If the dems had been a true opposition party the past 35 years, instead of drifting right every time someone poked fun at the word liberal, maybe we wouldn't be in this mess.

8. I agree with your assessment, but if this is a landslide election,

They may be forced to go bold. Not likely, but it's a hope!

7. If Dems could get a slight majority in the senate and take the house, I'd be happy

That would put a lid on Orange SHitler for a while - maybe they could impeach his ass.
