Catholic school forced to cover statue of kneeling boy that clearly no one thought through

By Jeff Taylor · Wednesday, November 22, 2017

A Catholic all-boys school was forced to cover up a statue of a saint and a kneeling boy that clearly no one gave a critical eye to before…(ahem)…erecting.

Blackfriars Priory School in Adelaide unveiled the statue of St Dominic handing a kneeling boy a loaf of bread, and even without the context of the Catholic Church‘s child abuse scandal, it looks bad. Like Kevin Spacey after a few too many drinks bad.

One of the saint’s miracles is said to be an “ample” supply of bread. Ample indeed.

When students began to take “inappropriate” photos with the statue, school officials covered it up.

The school’s principal, Simon Cobiac, published a statement to the school’s Facebook page, saying it looked different in the 2D plans compared to the real McCoy. Or should we say the real full Monty?

Let’s face it, we’ve all been there.

the sculptor is a sympathizer from afar for Comrade Casino, the republican Draft-Dodger-in-Chief.

One of these types must have been the statue review committee.

That particular tableau has engendered snickers for decades but come on. I hope they get their money back.

Can't anything be interpreted a different way?

"To the pure, everything is pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; in fact, both their mind and conscience are defiled."

Written, of course, with a firm understanding of what "righteousness" was as the minimal context, and what was clearly understood to be in the "impure" category by Judicial fiat.
