But it would depend on the participants if it was consensual.

What if someone derives pleasure from sucking his or her partner's toes or licking his or her armpits ?

Consent is key.

I'm trying to figure out when we first see references to men grabbing asses in literature. At least in the novel "Cheaper By The Dozen", written about the time before "flappers" but after corsets and hoops and bustles were out of style, the Dad makes reference to somehow being near a "preacher's convention" and the poor girl having to bring them things was so bruised by sneaked pinches "she had to eat off a mantelpiece".

So now I'm wondering. Were bustles and panniers and other things that made ass/hips look bigger but also prevented being able to touch them just for fashion, or to prevent unwanted butt-grabbing?

It makes a lot of sense

High boots because they had to walk in street slops and manure

Bustles to keep men from pinching
