"Capitalistic orgasm?"

Notice the name?
MACY'S Parade.

That's right, a store in New York City.

I see lots of different parades in the news, and I attend a couple each year.

I don't like how politicians use public parades for promotions, but I'm not going to boycott all parades.

an "apt description" of it. It's a tradition that's been on going for 93 years now...pretty much longer than most people have been alive. Dear god, is there anything some of you can find NOT to complain about. REALLY? On Thanksgiving no less. Yes the OP is absolutely and completely disgusting bullshit. Good grief, I been enjoying reading DU for a long time but it's posts like this that do make the left look like complete idiots.

with segregation. Really???? More unadulterated bullshit. Oh i'm sure when that Charlie Brown balloon went by it was just dripping with racism. Sorry but no, you don't get to somehow insist that all traditions are bad just because some actually were. I've been voting a straight Dem ticket for the past 33 years and this is literally the kind of shit....yes shit, that embarrasses our party to no end and drives voters away. Oh that evil Macy's! How dare they put on and sponsor a fun and much loved parade....we need to politicize it instead!

I actually perform a small part of a public service. If EVERYONE wanted to see the parade in person, there wouldn't be enough portapotties!

Either way, there are probably more people watching the parade than watched the Rump Inauguration. Which makes him less popular than SpongeBob SquarePants.

How many of them are "commercial" like this one?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category arades_in_the_United_States

Very few I'd hazard a guess, and that's just the larger ones and not all the little ones and all the individual town ones.

But keep tilting at that windmill, cause you got a bone to pick and gotta puff yourself up with what you've done so you can crap all over what others enjoy.
