There is always something to be thankful for, always someone who will bring you a smile. There is always something positive. Even in hard and sad times. It is not easy everyday, but people of goodwill will help each other.
I'd like to you thank you all for having welcomed me so warmly and friendly. Even if it is virtual, I met very nice people. I hope someday, I can meet for real some of you.
Happy Thanksgiving to you my friends, I wish you a good time surrounded by your families.

(14,491 posts)This is supposed to be our national day of gratitude and humility, or Thanksgiving.
We all thank you for being our good friend from across the big pond, and we're thankful for all your great input to Democratic Underground!

(5,101 posts)To me, all the members with whom I have talked, depict the real America : friendly, open to others, good strong values. Absolutly nothing to do with the shameful image the buffon is showing to the world.
He is a walking disgrace. I was curious to see his "wishes" to his fellow citizens...
Can't say I'm surprised...

(14,491 posts)Just curious - do you have an equivalent holiday to our Thanksgiving in your country, and if so when is it celebrated?
I know many of our holidays are based on European tradition.

(5,101 posts)No, we don't have an equivalent to Thanksgiving. There is a celebration on december, 6th, but it is not a holiday : Saint-Nicolas. It is for kids : they get sweets and toys.
There is no specific menu. But chocolates and cookies depicting St-Nicolas :

I hope you have had an enjoyable holiday. Peace.
