After Mitt Romney insulted NAACP members at their 2012 convention, he added insult to injury at a Super Pac(ed) fundraising speech the next evening stating all they want is free stuff. (Earth to Mitt - there are more white individuals on welfare and food stamps than blacks!)
Romney claims that he left Bain Capital in 1999 to save the Olympics and had no association with the management of Bain Capital after February of 1999. Yet records some signed by CEO, President and Board Chairman Romney - reflect that he was paid $100,000 a year by Bain in 2001 and 2002 to do nothing while he amassed considerable fortunes from Bains investment profits.
.
If we are to believe Mitts claims of non-involvement, he is the last person on earth to accuse anybody else of wanting nothing but free stuff when he appears to be the master of amassing it!

(5,754 posts)We don't know how much he was paid. 100K is a minimum amount.

(4,113 posts)The SEC documents' language stated $100,000 and over, or something like that. That needs to be stated every time.
Why would he accept only $100,000 a year? Historically, he's turned down larger amounts than that.

(15,243 posts)Almost free stuff for RMoney provided in secret Panamanian accounts at Bains start up. Wouldn't it be hilarious if the LDS church were the real owners of Bain Capital. This ass has nerve complaining about free stuff.

(29,090 posts)to be honest, what he said on Fox was not "they want free stuff",
but "If they just want free stuff, they can vote for the other guy".
I know...It's not MUCH better, but he did, in truth, pose it
as a question.

(8,434 posts)the people that scream the loudest about something tend to be at least a little guilty of that issue. In mittens case I think he's a gross violator about his pet issue. I'm betting most if not all of his donors are doing the same.

(5,420 posts)than blacks? That is great info to use against the racist mf'ers who hate welfare. I am sure that the majority of haters are sure that it's mostly black people taking advantage of them.
I'd also like to know the extent of the welfare for the rich in comparison with the welfare for the poor. Hard to figure though because part of that rich welfare is the tax breaks they have given themselves.
I've been using Rmoney's horse deduction of 77,000 as an example. How many people could have eaten if Rmoney didn't have such a bogus deduction?

(26,648 posts)the majority of people qualifying for food stamps are working. Now that Walmart and others have found a way to pay the lowest wages possible they are reaping massive profits. Taxpayers are subsidizing these mega corporations by subsidizing their employees. Oh excuuuuuse mee! Their "Associates." When Employers became "job creators" employees became something else too, but mostly they just became poorer.
The rich are getting plenty of "free stuff" and you better believe it.

I watched and loved the VPs speech too, but nobody will get out the vote like Willard.
