Trump just implied that a sitting US Senator is a whore. This should mark the end of his presidency

This isn't business as usual. His foul tweet was the definition of sexual harassment. We shouldn't move on to the next scandal as if this didn't just happen.

she is the author of the fiasco, and Sanders should have kept his mouth shut, and may have if Gillibrand had not gone public the way she did.

Besides the fact that trump is a low-class slimy individual, Gillibrand has done a lot of damage to her career and the Democratic party, not sure what she had in mind but it has certainly backfired.

I am not happy with Sanders opening his mouth about it, but as an author (Gillibrand) you get the praise or the criticism. Just because it didn't go as she planned doesn't mean she should share the failure, I am sure she would be rejoicing in the success if it had worked as planned.

So since I don't support Gillibrand for president I want Trump to be re elected.

She is the only person who can run against Trump?

Who knew?

Tue Dec 12, 2017, 07:32 PM
Dec 2017

He has a good voting record, but in 8 years, I never heard much about what he was focused on. He's one of 48. I'm not a card carrying member of his fanclub like most of DU is.

But since it was a woman who spearheaded things (right or wrong), she has been subjected to some pretty nasty attacks on DU. Over the weekend, I think that Roy Moore was more popular here.

Look I don't want anyone (men in particular) to call a woman a whore. And I'd say the same for a Sarah Palin as I would for Kirsten Gillibrand. It is completely and totally uncalled for.

The patriarchy needs to be smashed and the good old boys club needs to be broken up. I want no part of a world where a man's word is more important than a woman's.

WASHINGTON — Representative Trent Franks of Arizona, one of the House’s most ardent social conservatives, said Thursday night that he would resign after the House Ethics Committee began an investigation into complaints that he had asked two female staff members to be a surrogate to bear his child.

Putting the crude sexism aside, the extraordinary thing about this tweet is its sheer incoherence. How does "crooked Hillary" morph into "Crooked-USED" and how does Gillibrand's attack on Trump have anything at all to do with the Clintons? Trump's primary functions at this point are to serve as our tour guide through his personal sanitary sewer and to provide the media with excuses to turn a blind eye to the plutocratic looting of America.

Dec 2017

This raises her national recognition. She needs publicity, if she's going to run for President, which it looks like she is. That's why she got rid of Franken, and why Schumer backed her up.

That's my opinion, anyway. We all know that anyone who dares to openly criticize him can expect a foul, personal vindictive tweet from him. He's easy to play that way.

But I will never vote for her.

119. No, we can't dictate what he'll say. But we know HOW to get a foul, personal tweet from him.
Tue Dec 12, 2017, 04:13 PM
Dec 2017

That's established. He never lets a slight go by. No one is too small for him to tweet about vindictively, whether it's a union worker or an NFL player or a Senator.

We're not naive. We all know that. You wanna get a personal vindictive tweet? Say something or do something publicly against him...and you'll get it. That's what he does every...single....day. He gets even via tweets.

She knew that. So...mission accomplished. Her name is out there, more people know the name...and that's the name of the game.

I'm not saying that's a terrible strategy. It did what it was supposed to do, so it was successful. If a Senator doesn't get a nasty tweet from Trump, that Senator ain't doin' much. Franken certainly got his share of nasty Trump tweets.

Tue Dec 12, 2017, 12:50 PM
Dec 2017

They were the original liberal voices on the FM airwaves. Before they (Al first, then Rachel)(Acturally, Mike Malloy was First) came to the FM (I dont think the AM channels) all we had was the extreme of the extreme right wing nuts yelling all over AM radio. I had no other choice but to listen and yell at the radio. I was an over-the-road truck driver from 92 till 2009. Out west there were no FM reception, especially at night. Then Mike Malloy had a show on AM. Releif.
It was truly amazing the most extreme right wing talk was all that was on before Al.
Now, since we cant have Al Franken in government.....I would love to have him on MSNBC for an hour or two everyday.
Keep Al Franken's voice heard...very loudly.

104. I am going to go out on a limb here and predict
Tue Dec 12, 2017, 01:53 PM
Dec 2017

That this will NOT be the straw that breaks the camel’s back. tRump just keeps on doing more and more outrageous things and nothing happens. We get angry and predict his demise and then get kicked in the ass one more time. So I am not taking the bait any more. We may WANT this nightmare to end but nothing tRump has said or done so far has brought it to a close. There seem to be forces at work here that we are not taking into consideration.

All things being equal, tRump should have never made it out of the primaries. But he prevailed. He tripped up all through the campaign and things from his past came back to haunt him. And yet, he is the President of the USA. All the things we thought would eliminate him evaporated or got swept under the rug.

So now we wait on Mueller to finally get the goods on him, if he is allowed to complete his investigation. I, for one, will believe he will be drummed out of office when I see it. I am tired of being lured into believing that the right thing will happen, for once. And then get kicked in the teeth (and other places). We are in different territory now. My fingers are crossed that at some point soon this nightmare will be over. But tRump doing one bad thing too many does not seem to Be the thing that will finally get him out of the Oval Office. 😞
