More Batman premieres cancelled

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-18943822

Warner Bros. has cancelled two more red carpet events for The Dark Knight Rises in the wake of an attack at a midnight screening of the film in the US.

It said cast members would not be making appearances in Japan and Mexico scheduled for Monday, "due to the tragic events in Colorado."

Twelve people were killed and 58 hurt in the attack at a Century 16 cinema in Aurora, near Denver.

A man wearing a gas mask opened fire as movie-goers watched the film.

other than doing so in deference to what happened, the countries doing the cancellations are not in the U.S. and certainly don't have the proliferation of guns that the U.S. has. Not to say that they don't have lone wolves (e.g., like that sicko in Norway)...

the darkness if they lose millions on this. Nobody wants to make copies of the Aurora debacle.

This movie was supposed to be the biggest of the year, and it may well be. Untold amounts of money were certainly lost this weekend as I (for one) wanted to go see the movie, but all the brouhaha has made me want to wait to get to the cinema or wait until I can see it on video.

Something has to be done about these assault weapons. But, I don't know if we can ever put the genie back in the bottle....
