It turns out that Richard Beckler, who died last summer at the age of 77, had just been appointed by Trump in May.
He had a history, among other things, of representing Halliburton -- and working for Giuliani's firm. But his biggest accomplishment in the long run may turn out to be that he died before "securing" DT's emails from the Mueller investigation.
RIP, Richard Beckler.

Eventually switching to private practice, Dick spent the next 37 years in white collar criminal defense for the firms Fulbright & Jaworski, Howrey LLP, and Bracewell & Giuliani mostly representing corporations such as Halliburton but also many individuals such as Bill Casey- CIA Director under President Reagan. He also served as Independent Director of Rosetta Resources, Inc. from 2005 - 2013. Most recently Dick began a new role in May 2017 as Chief Legal Advisor and General Counsel of the General Services Administration under President Trump.

(5,730 posts)Money as the main motivator, huge, unbelievable amounts of money, from donors, from deals they protect and get cut into, from generations of connections. There is also the threat of exposure and shame to their families, but they all have so much on each other, they aren't going to risk exposure.
