Former food service provider sues Alabama State University officials

A food service provider previously contracted with Alabama State University has filed suit against school officials, accusing them of wrongly breaking their agreement.

ASU first entered into an agreement with Gourmet Food Services, Inc. in 2012. On May 23, the board of trustees voted not to renew its contract with Gourmet Food Services and instead voted to hire Aramark.

Alfreda Green, board chairwoman, did not specify why Aramark was selected.

Both she and interim university president Leon Wilson are listed as defendants in the suit.
