Dane County Sheriff Dave Mahoney disputes Scott Walker's marijuana story
1 hour ago By Matthew DeFour | Wisconsin State Journal
Dane County's Democratic sheriff is disputing a story Gov. Scott Walker told last week in response to a question about marijuana legalization though the Republican governor is standing behind his comments.
At a luncheon in Phoenix emceed by conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, Walker said he opposed legalizing marijuana, citing a conversation he said he had with the sheriff of liberal Dane County. "I mean, its left of Pravda," Walker said of the political views of county residents, which he compared to the Communist Russian newspaper.
"Even there, the Democrat sheriff said to me last year when this issue came up, 'Whatever you do, please do not sign the legalization of marijuana,'" Walker said. "This was a guy who spent his whole career in law enforcement. He was liberal on a whole lot of other issues. But he said its a gateway drug."
Sheriff Dave Mahoney said Monday he had no recollection of such a conversation.
In fact, Mahoney said, he has never had a one-on-one, sit-down conversation on any topic with Walker since he became governor. Any interactions they've had at public events and meetings have been cordial small talk, he said.
"I'd be very interested in knowing when I had a conversation with the governor himself about marijuana," Mahoney said. "I have no idea when that could have possibly occurred."

Politico: Last month, Scott Walker seemed readily available to any reporter who had a question for him. He was basking in the limelight, holding media scrums and granting impromptu interviews. But in the wake of a few controversial, headline-grabbing quotes about evolution and President Obamas religion, the Wisconsin governor and likely Republican presidential candidate has put brakes on his media availability, reporters who follow him say.

She gave a talk at the last CPAC convention and she didn't do her "Mama Grizzly" routine. I have a sneaky suspicion someone told her, or perhaps dawn finally broke on distant Palin Mountain, and she's realized she's become the laughing stock of the GOP as well as America and the world.

(4,949 posts)Walker really is stupid to the core. For example, he has no idea what he's doing when he cuts funding to the UW system and takes away tenure from those who devote their lives to research.
Walker is not only stupid incarnate, he's evil incarnate.
