Marriott CEO Calls Indiana’s RFRA “Madness” and “Idiocy”

Source: Human Rights Campaign

Marriott President and CEO Arne Sorenson has joined the call for Indiana to fix its discriminatory anti-LGBT religious refusal bill.

In a video released this morning on MSNBC, Sorenson stated,

“The legislation in Indiana -- and there are some bills being considered in other states -- is not just pure idiocy from a business perspective -- and it is that -- the notion that you can tell businesses somehow that they are free to discriminate against people based on who they are is madness.”

Marriott, an HRC Corporate Partner, stands beside Apple CEO Tim Cook, Subaru’s Director of Corporate Communications, the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and local employers, including Alcoa, Cummins, Eli Lilly & Co., and Salesforce, who have also spoken out against the new law, warning that it is bad for business.

..fill the categories of all parts of society that Pence & his White Hooded cohorts love to discriminate.
Women, unmarried with children, LGBT, immigrants & as a global corporation there is NO ROOM at the Inn for bigotry.
Money does speak louder than Pence's underhanded B.S.

Perhaps the churches and other groups that supported this law can waive their tax exempt status and try to make up for some of the revenue that will be lost?

until the law is repealed. Nothing like an angry bunch of "Furious 7" fans to add to the other voices against the bill.

The Corporate™ GOP vs the purported "SocialConservative™ GOP. Generally over the past 30+ years (using the "modern" Raygun ideology), the "social conservatives" were always sought out and courted for elections, and then summarily shoved aside. Seems this time they are trying to fight it out... But in a "capitalistic" country, money will trump all, so they might as well not bother. There are still a bunch of billionaires wealthier than the Kochs.

The one with the most $$$$ will always win.

The saying about having no "permanent friends" or "permanent enemies" but "permanent interests", seems to apply.

No sugar coating how he sincerely felt.
Gay hater Pence has been exposed for his stupid stunt.
A business like Marriot Corp will not be tied to Pence's use of religion to legislate discrimination.
Utter despicable disgust was the tone of his voice.
Pence was skewered & roasted.

Lovely moment indeed.

they talk the talk but don't do the walk.
They should ask for a PHOTO STATE ISSUED ID from everyone and if they come from one of these bigoted states, you then say to them to there face that WE WILL NOT SERVE YOU, but until you change your right wing bigoted laws, your right wing bigoted governor and your right wing bigoted legislature you will not BE SERVED
