Not home 3 years after Sandy, protesters blast Christie
Source: Washington Post
TRENTON, N.J. Some New Jersey victims of Superstorm Sandy say they feel Gov. Chris Christie has forgotten about them in his pursuit of the presidency.
About a dozen protesters intended to pitch tents and camp out across from the Statehouse in Trenton on Tuesday, but were barred by State Police from using tents.
Many of the demonstrators are still unable to return to their homes three years after the storm. They say theyll sit or stand outdoors the rest of the week.
The state Community Affairs Department says more than 7,400 people in New Jerseys main rebuilding grant program have received at least one payment to rebuild, reconstruct or elevate their homes, indicating they are under construction.
