A contractor at a federal immigration center in Lincoln said Thursday it has reached a proposed five-year agreement with the labor union that represents the centers 300 workers.
FCi Federal, based in Ashburn, Virginia, said the agreement with Local 808 of the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America is subject to a vote by the union members.
They work at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services service center in Lincoln, which processes and stores immigration records and documents. FCi became the lead contractor at the facility this month.
The union had complained to the National Labor Relations Board that FCi Federal had not bargained in good faith and had suspended three union leaders for union activity. Members had disputed changes to their work hours and mandatory overtime without extra pay, put in place without negotiating with the union.
