Obama Tells Democratic Supporters They Have to Sell Agenda

POTOMAC, Md. (AP) -- President Barack Obama is encouraging supporters to get as engaged and involved in political elections as they were seven years ago in electing him to the White House.

Obama spoke to about 350 donors at a suburban Maryland fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee just one day after Democrats lost the gubernatorial race in Kentucky and failed to make gains in the Virginia Senate.

Obama says he believes most Americans agree with Democratic priorities such as raising the minimum wage and increasing investments in education and job training.

He says Democrats have the right agenda to move America forward but they've got to get out and sell it. He did not reference Tueday's elections directly and instead spoke about the need for Democrats to vote in next year's general election.

MUST be done everywhere, in all sorts of forums, schools, offices, friends and family gatherings, places of religious observance (where appropriate.) and in the MEDIA!

4. I love the guy but where was he when the republicans were making all these gains?

He's always been sort of MIA when it came to vocal support of Democrats in off year elections. And yes I'm aware that some Dems didn't want him there but he has never seemed engaged in down ballot elections.

5. "Sell?" -Interesting choice of words...

I'm not 'selling' anything when I talk to individuals when the potential to persuade them on important issues; I'm convincing them that it's a prudent decision that maximizes it's benefits for the overall good for the majority.

"Selling an agenda..." sounds extremely cheap, hollow and callous.
