28. Redemption Story
Fri Nov 6, 2015, 10:21 AM
Nov 2015

Dr. Carson and his supporters see the story as an accolade because they see it as a redemption story. The attempted stabbing is not the great part of the story for them; the great part of the story for them is that after seeing the error of his ways Carson was able to find redemption and turn his life around.

From what I'm hearing from people I know, they love his soft, calm voice and think that would translate into being a good POTUS. I don't think they listen to any of the content that he says with that soft, calm voice.

This guy sounds nuttier every time he opens his mouth.

Then, right behind Carson in the polls, you have the other end of the spectrum with Trump with his egomaniacal, loud me-me-me demeanor. Like Carson, you have to ask yourself if you'd want this person at the negotiating table with a Putin, a Netanyahu or any leader from another country.

Re: the CNN investigation talking to the 9 people that knew him when he was growing up that do not recall him having a temper ...

Thought: Well, duh!
Thought: Bet the incident happened all in his head

(From the linked article) "Do you think I'm a pathological liar, like CNN does, or do you think I'm an honest person?

Thought: Kelly's response: Yes ... and I work for Fox. SECURITYYYYY!

And I'm going to leave it up to the American people to make that decision," he said

Thought: Okay, let's put it all together ... ben wants the American people to decide whether the telling of an unanimously regarded, mild mannered earlier self, trying to kill his mother, in a fantasy, makes the teller a pathological liar? Really?

35. He Is A Republican
Fri Nov 6, 2015, 11:11 AM
Nov 2015

Dr. Carson is getting a free pass because he is a Republican who says things Republicans want to hear. The same things goes for guys like George Zimmerman. George Zimmerman has actually been arrested multiple times, but the Republicans do not call him a thug. George Zimmerman boasted, on social media, about his bad behavior, but Republicans do not call him a thug. As far as I know there are many Republicans who have said many horrible things about law enforcement officials and police officers, but leading Republicans do not criticize them for insulting law enforcement officials and police officers. A number of right wingers have killed police officers, but Republicans have not been critical of right wingers who speak negatively about law enforcement, or asked for right wingers to tone down the hateful rhetoric towards law enforcement.

If President Obama, or any other black Democrat had claimed to have attempted to hit his/her mother with a hammer and claimed to have attempted to stab a person, Fox News and the Republicans would have called him/her a thug and claimed that that person should not be President of the United States. If Dr. Carson had been a Democrat, Fox News and the Republicans would likely criticize the media for saying that Dr. Carson is a nice guy and not reporting, in a negative way, night and day on his violence issues. If Dr. Carson was a Democrat and he was leading state and national polls of Democratic voters, Fox News and the Republicans would claim Dr. Carson's lead shows the moral corruption within the Democratic Party.

25. Beginning to Think Story Not True
Fri Nov 6, 2015, 10:13 AM
Nov 2015

I am beginning to think Dr. Ben Carson's story is not true. It is not just that he now claims he attempted to stab a close relative and not a friend; it is also that the story has changed many times over the years. In addition, whether he tried to stab a friend or family member why has no one been able to find this person? Why has this person not come forward and told his story? You would think the person would have come forward if only to say he did not want to talk about the issue, or that he has forgiven Carson.
