Order to take baby from lesbian foster parents under review

Source: AP

By BRADY McCOMBS

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah state officials are looking into a judge's order to have a baby taken from lesbian foster parents and placed with a heterosexual couple for the child's well-being.

Utah Division of Child and Family Services spokeswoman Ashley Sumner says Judge Scott Johansen's order Tuesday in the city of Price raised concerns at the agency.

Its attorneys plan to review the decision and determine what options are available for the state to possibly challenge the order.

Attempts to reach April Hoagland and Beckie Peirce on Wednesday were unsuccessful. The couple told KUTV (http://bit.ly/1Sjph1o ) that Judge Johansen cited research that children do better when they are raised by heterosexual couples.

are often subject to. My niece is the baby sitter for a child in a gay family and she is always telling us what good parents they are.

This is another hurtle in the fight. Hopefully the state will reverse the decision as soon as possible.

call mental health professionals, and the police, for what seems to be a delusional judge?

It ought to be arrested for posing an imminent danger to others.

Isn't there settled case law that the robed crusader is flouting?

Real studies prove this time and time again. Not some bogus studies like the ones this judge is too ashamed to even cite.

My heart is with this poor family. I hope the real better interest of the child prevails in this case quickly. I also hope, probably without a chance of seeing it become reality, this judge is removed from the bench for this act of hateful bigotry.
