Democratic presidential candidate Martin O'Malley urges IKEA to support Stoughton workers' union...

Source: Mass Live

By Shannon Young

SPRINGFIELD ‒ Democratic presidential candidate Martin O'Malley this week called on IKEA to immediately recognize Massachusetts employees' decision to unionize, stressing that he stands with the Stoughton-based workers.

In a letter to IKEA U.S. President Lars Petersson, the former Maryland governor pointed to warehouse workers in Perryville, Md. who have formed a union and recently voted on a new collective bargaining agreement that he said "allows them to share in the company's success."

With several overnight warehouse workers at the IKEA in Stoughton having announced that they're ready to build a union with UFCW, the country's union for retail workers, O'Malley called on the company to recognize the decision.

As it was being built, we learned about ikea's terrible labor policies here in third world America. We decided the company needs us more than we need them and have stayed away while making our displeasure known.
Corporate greed stinks...
