Those gun yahoos that need more than a couple of weapons for hunting and maybe self-defense will just have to seek mental health care if they can't live without the dang things. Semi-autos need to be further restricted. No toting should be allowed and metal detectors and scanners should be everywhere. More later.

I realize there are a small percentage of gunners who might not be racists, but not many. Anyone with more than a gun or two for hunting and maybe home defense, is a blight on society.

What would be nice is if those who have become addicted to gunz, voluntarily gave most of them up for the good of society. I know there is little chance of that because gunners have to be a callous people to stock up and train with gunz to kill people.

county or state over. I'm not saying ban guns, which would be impossible to enforce anyway. But there has to be a way to better filter out the folks who shouldn't - due to serious mental-health issues - or can't - due to felony convictions - have guns. Universally enforced background checks, in every state and county, seems like the least we could do. And most polls show overwhelming public support for such a measure.

from a generation (give or take) ago. Personally, I don't see a direct causal relationship one way or the other, between gun ownership rates and contemporaneous crime rates. Yes, we have a very high murder rate as First World countries go, but even other countries with high rates of gun ownership (e.g. Canada) seem to have far less gun violence per capita. What doesn't seem entirely coincidental (IMO) is that we have some of the laxest gun laws on Earth, even compared with other heavily armed nations.

Here in CA they prohibit concealed carry in counties of over 200,000 people or something like that. I don't have much of a problem with it - people may not be able to (legally) carry guns around, but they can certainly own and keep them at home, provided they're not a convicted felon or fresh out of some kind of institution.
