Donald Trump Retweeted a Twitter User Named "White Genocide"

Source: Slate

Here's something that leading Republican presidential Donald Trump retweeted this morning:

White genocide" is apparently the name for the theory, popular among white supremacists, that the white "race" is being intentionally eradicated through "immigration, integration, miscegenation, low fertility rates and abortion."

Remarkably, this is not the first time that Trump—whose candidacy is being discussed in increasingly friendly terms by top Republican figures—has distributed the work of a white supremacist to millions of people; in November, he tweeted a set of fabricated statistics purporting to show that 81 percent of white murder victims are killed by black perpetrators. (The actual figure is 15 percent.)

I'll admit, I was wrong. I didn't think any media would actually pick up on this.

The moral of the story is this: No matter however horrific a person you are, if you praise or invoke Donald Trump's name, he'll reward you.

(And yes, it's not a sickly ironic parody Twitter handle. That person actually is a real neo-Nazi spouting very real neo-Nazi hatred. I won't link to it because that person's a huge waste of flesh and blood, but it's all out there.)

with PoC who felt that "At least Trump tells it like it is." AND "He didn't say that about all hispanics, he said he presumed a few were good people!"

All races are capable of having the wool pulled over their eyes by that bastard.

He definitely won't get the majority of the minority vote, but... his racism surprisingly doesn't disqualify him from any of their votes.

Also, welcome to DU!

I'm not sure he himself RT'd that but his campaign staff as the tweet isn't signed. That being said, the MSM should pick up on this

I can't see him delegating that out. His rants as they appear on Twitter are very similar to what we hear come out of his mouth.

I don't have a Twitter account of my own, but I assume it's like Facebook and you can manage what people see on your own page. So I assume you can remove something off your feed.

He hasn't done that. So clearly he doesn't care, because in his mind, he can shoot someone and not lose any support. So of course he's not going to bother removing his own link to a Twitter user named "White Genocide" with vile, racist swill in his feed.

Stop apologizing for this shitbird.

Not just Clinton or Sanders or O'Malley, but even a Republican--hell, even a nutso like Ted Cruz--this would be front page stuff.

Let's not forget a single Twitter post of a Congressman's underwear derailed an entire political career.

But because Trump does so much stuff that is completely outrageous, one single incident of outrageousness somehow gets lost in the shuffle of everything else.

http://www.cnn.com/2016/01/22/politics/donald-trump-retweet-white-genocide/index.html

Washington (CNN)—Donald Trump's penchant for retweets once again raised eyebrows, after he recirculated a tweet on Friday from a user with the handle "WhiteGenocideTM."

The profile -- with about 2,300 followers -- used the name "Donald Trumpovitz," linked to a website containing a pro-Adolf Hitler documentary, featured a background photo with red lettering saying "Get the F--- Out of My Country" and had a location of "Jewmerica." The account also includes a photo of George Lincoln Rockwell, founder of the American Nazi Party.

The account's Twitter feed was largely a collection of retweets about violence allegedly committed by African-American suspects and anti-Arab posts.

The tweet Trump actually reposted from the user, however, was a photoshopped image of the GOP front-runner's opponent Jeb Bush, depicting him as a disheveled beggar outside Trump Tower.

And Trump has tweeted twice since re-tweeting that, so it's not like he couldn't have deleted it off his feed in the meantime.

He's been called out on it considerably, and never bothered to delete his own link to a Twitter user named "White Genocide" whose feed contains unimaginable racist, vile swill.

But he says he can shoot someone and not lose any support. So I guess we shouldn't be surprised.

His campaign, and his own Twitter account.

The idea that Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, or anyone else like that logs into their own Twitter account to actually tweet something is totally ridiculous.

That being said, one would think there would be some fucking rules for the peons that operate this social messaging campaign.

If you read the Twitter accounts of President Obama or Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders or Jeb Bush or Marco Rubio, etc., they all come off polished, refined, and focus-grouped. I'm sure they all have their social media coordinators in charge of that.

But Donald Trump's tweets are very different. They come off sounding crude, egotistical, unintelligent, and....well....Donald Trump. They sound like some uniformed nitwit on a huge ego trip, with repetitive phrases and unoriginal phrasing, and that's exactly how Donald Trump converses. His speeches are no different than his tweets.

It's not that difficult that Donald Trump can shoot out a brief tweet from his cell phone in between campaign stops and public events. Nor is it that unimaginable that he could do so. Social media--and especially Twitter--is the ultimate vanity project, and there's no one more obsessed about promoting Donald Trump than Donald Trump himself.

It's either Donald Trump himself tweeting, or a staffer who's nailed an uncanny impersonation of him.
