Koch brothers have $14.8M ready in PAC

The Freedom Partners Action Fund raised $11.1 million in the second half of the year, with Charles Koch leading in contributions with $3 million of his own money. The super PAC is linked to Koch's Freedom Partners Chamber of Commerce, the umbrella group that overseas the Koch's political and policy empire. Citadel hedge fund manager Ken Griffin and Wisconsin construction businesswoman Diane Hendricks each contributed $2 million. Hendricks previously has backed Scott Walkers governor bid. Texas oil businessman Paul Foster contributed $1 million, and Richard Gilliam, among the countrys top coal businessmen, contributed $1 million.
The Kochs PAC spent just $201,149 in the second half of the year, leaving $14.8 million in cash on hand. Koch, the billionaire industrialist, told USA TODAY in November that he had no plans to back a candidate in the crowded Republican presidential primary.
The super PAC represents a sliver of what the sprawling Koch network intends to invest in political and policy fights. Over the weekend, network officials said they had raised and spent $400 million in 2015 and expect to spend a combined $889 million over a two-year period on politics, policy and grass-roots mobilization.
