Rep. Joe Salazar endorses Bernie Sanders over Hillary Clinton
Source: Denver Post
Rep. Joe Salazar, who calls himself one of the state's leading progressive voices, announced Saturday he's endorsing Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders to be the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee. Salazar, D-Thornton, said he feels Sanders is the best choice for Colorado.
Last year, Salazar co-sponsored a bill with Rep. Jovan Melton, D-Aurora, to create a subcommittee in the Colorado Commission of Indian Affairs to review the use of American Indian mascots at schools. In January, he introduced legislation to change the name of the Columbus Day state holiday to Indigenous Peoples' Day.

(45,319 posts)footnotes, asterisks, walk backs and of course a massively long history of opposing the rights of LGBT to marry. Hillary surrogates attack Bernie with the same set of slams they used against Barack in 08 which is an interesting choice to make considering Barack Obama won that election.....
In 08, for example, Delores Huerta said Obama supporters engaged in 'huge intimidation', oppression and suppression of the Latino vote. She said Obama laced courage, had poor judgement and that he had a history of refusing to associate with Latinos. To present her as a valid critic requires one to agree with her 08 criticisms, which are the same only with a different rival.

Backbenchers! Rabble! Disgruntled losers!
If your crew had any sense for logic or aesthetics, you would at least seek a consistency in your sophistries.
But of course that's no consideration whatsoever. All the dirty tricks and lies to fit, whatever it takes to get to the goal. What is the goal, exactly? That is another matter: Hooray for the maintenance of an unsustainable status quo. But thankfully, "to the winners go the spoils." That's what it's about, obviously. And be it on a fracked and bombed out wasteland, that's only eventually.
So congratulations if you get the prize. What will your share be? An actual material something? Or just vicarious?

Vicarious, of course. "We won"! Just those words. Anything for the 'WE' part. A fleeting moment.

(1,735 posts)was brought about by the original poster putting this story on three different group sites. Annoying and overdone. Folks let's keep things in perspective. A legislator from one state supporting on your candidate is not major breaking news, just of political interest.

I'll be certain to consult with you the next time I post an endorsement. You're just pissed HRH didn't get it.
P.S. This legislator isn't even in my state.

Salazar is huge here in my state. Hillary is going to lose Colorado. Easy as that.
Why is it so many state senators/reps are going for Bernie? *crickets*

(24,979 posts)One must wonder who the poster thinks they are, what heights they imagine they inhabit to look down on Rep. Salazar as a "back-bencher".
Also, I thought we didn't have those in the American system? (Of course we do: party "leadership" and the seniority principle is one of the most conservative and awful forces in our politics, and goes almost completely unremarked as a problem. If only all the patsies calling for term limits would instead demand rotating or random committee chairmanships, we might actually get a change.)

(5,400 posts)And I agree we should do away with our system of superdelegates.
This has been the campaign season that's blown some desperately needed fresh air into our party's hallowed halls. Who knew how incredibly well we could poll with younger voters? Who knew we could get them to show up and vote?
And now we're looking strong with the Independents who'll be key in winning the swing states.

(3,111 posts)I mean, one can earn the nomination, and should.. The more fairly and squarely the better. Because otherwise it's a sham.
The nomination should ideally represent the true wishes of the people, and hopefully the candidate that will do the best in November as well. But the best way is to present the two sides, and have the people decide.
