Ex-DNC official says she was warned against breaking from Clinton
Source: The Hill
Tulsi Gabbard, the Hawaii Democrat who resigned a leadership post with the Democratic National Committee in order to endorse White House hopeful Bernie Sanders, admitted she was warned against breaking from front-runner Hillary Clinton.
"I'll be very honest with you, a lot of people warned me against doing what I did," the lawmaker told MSNBC on Tuesday night.
"But this is a very serious issue and what I did speaks to the high stakes that exist. War is a very real thing, its real to me, it's real to our service members and their families."
Gabbard, a veteran, made her surprise decision during a Sunday interview on NBC's "Meet the Press." Her response on Tuesday came after MSNBC's Brian Williams asked her if she's worried about what her life in Congress would be like if Clinton wins.

Can't we just deal with the issues? Apparently not.

(24,010 posts)We need more Democratic leaders like her and far fewer--and, hey, maybe none--of the bend-overs for war, and takers of war profiteer money, and corporate shills, who send brave people like Tulsi Gabbard to fight corporate resource battles for their palsy-walsy donors.
She is what America is really all about, or should be. And I will be thrilled, indeed, as a 70 year old woman, to see Tulsi Gabbard sworn in as the first woman president of the United States. We could be proud of that. I hope I live to see it.

These DNC Democrats are not good people and should not be anywhere near the White House.

(953 posts)Progressives, Democrats, Republicans, Tea Party
Democrats are called centrist but are socially liberal, economically
indistinguishable from Republicans
Republicans are the old 1970s-1980s moderate Republican base, Main Street,
unconcerned about environment and hold-your-nose tolerant on social issues
We know what the other two factions are about
Tea Party includes of course Evangelicals and Libertarians
$trump is a Tea Partier no matter how much he denies it, though
he's also Big Business, he is not Main Street very much
HRC is a Wall Street centrist, Big Business, also not a Main Streeter, for a
major party candidate, her natural base is narrow
The election will be won or lost on which way Main Street voters break,
progressive turnout, and of course minority voters

(25,406 posts)Or were the "consequences" merely political ones? If so, isn't that how politics normally works? If some Democrat campaigned strongly against Bernie Sanders would he or she expect a senior position in a Sanders administration, or for their pet causes to be addressed by it?
