Foreign Diplomats Voicing Alarm To U.S. Officials About Trump
Source: Reuters
Foreign diplomats are expressing alarm to U.S. government officials about what they say are inflammatory and insulting public statements by Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump, according to senior U.S. officials.
Officials from Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia have complained in recent private conversations, mostly about the xenophobic nature of Trump's statements, said three U.S. officials, who all declined to be identified.
"As the (Trump) rhetoric has continued, and in some cases amped up, so, too, have concerns by certain leaders around the world," said one of the officials.
The three officials declined to disclose a full list of countries whose diplomats have complained, but two said they included at least India, South Korea, Japan and Mexico.

(17,193 posts)Sure, one would expect put-downs from our opponents, but when allies and satellites of long standing are worried that we may elect someone who is stark, staring mad, something is very wrong.

(129 posts)Trump and his wannabe clones in the GOP are a clear and present danger to THE ENTIRE WORLD, not just a problem for our unfortunate national politics.
FWIW, after watching the Democratic debate last night, it seems obvious that Trump et. al. don't stand a chance against the real grownup Democratic candidates.
If only we could educate the GOP base.

(39,215 posts)stop his idiocy. How many crimes against minorities have been committed because he encourages them? In fact encourages them right at his political events. How much of the unrest in EU can be attributed to his hate speech?
We have no laws that I know of that would work in this situation. Not to mention that the Rs and their followers have been spouting hate speech since the 80s and we have done nothing to stop it. They all justify this under the heading of free speech.
