Opponents block Washington state gay marriage

OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Washington's gay marriage law was blocked from taking effect Wednesday as opponents filed more than 200,000 signatures seeking a public vote on the issue in November.

Preserve Marriage Washington submitted the signatures just a day before the state was to begin allowing same-sex marriages. State officials will review the filings over the next week to determine whether the proposed referendum will qualify for a public vote, though the numbers suggest the measure will make the ballot easily.

"The current definition of marriage works and has worked," said Joseph Backholm, the chair of Preserve Marriage Washington.

So much as an undotted I or uncrossed T or a smudge and zappo!

That's how Ken Blackwell and Katherine Harris would do it.

And there's no doubt, it's about the sex. If it didn't squick them, they wouldn't give 2 hoots.

Where are the Jobs?
Same sex marriage is the best that You can do to divert Our attention from the economy and lack of good jobs?
It's been 32 years of trickle down and de-regulation,the last ten were tax cuts for the so-called job creator's,so where are all those good job's?

Same sex marriage,good idea!
Good Jobs grow an economy where everyone prospers and can enjoy rights that are equitable to all.
Dragging a Bronze Age Doctrine into any argument pertaining to current issues is a strawman diversion at best.
You should be ashamed of yourselves and others who would stand up and say that You deserve special rights because You believe some non-sense from an irrelevant book taken from every popular dogma of its day going back over 5,000 years, superstition is not the same as fact.

The fact's show that the right wing has done nothing but destroy this once proud nation over the past thirty plus years and now the right wants us to believe that denying our citizen's basic human right's will make the invisible cloud being make this country great again.
How's that been working out for you?
Where are the job's?
