Trump mocks Christie at rally

Source: Politico

Donald Trump hit his newfound sidekick Chris Christie with some friendly fire on Monday while trying to attack Ohio Gov. John Kasich ahead of his home state’s Tuesday primary.

Trump, speaking a campaign rally in Columbus, Ohio, accused Kasich of having abandoned his gubernatorial duties to campaign in New Hampshire.

“And your governor is absentee," Trump told the crowd. "He goes to New Hampshire, he’s living in New Hampshire. Living! Where's Chris, is Chris around? Even more than Chris Christie, he was there, right? Even more.”

Trump then turned to Christie, who was next to him on stage, and said, “I hated to do that, but I had to make my point.”

After today's performance, who would be stupid enough to be Trump's VP. Oh, yeah, ... Palin. Well he won't have much choice if it ever comes to that, which it might. If Trump doesn't outright win the nomination or is denied the nomination by RNC machinations and chicanery, then he is likely to go rogue. Didn't somebody else self-style themselves as "rogue"? Oh, yeah, ... Palin.

Christie made the mistake of forgetting that, like everyone else, he is merely a function to Trump. Falling in love with an abusive narcissist is the road to hell.

Three years ago I picked Christie (probably right here on DU) to be the GOP nominee this year. His positioning was amazingly good.

* Christie filled a brief vacancy in the US Senate with one of his loyal followers, granting that guy (and himself) lifetime floor access to the Senate. That permits Christie to generate his own unique intelligence on goings on in Washington, DC;

* Christie also became the Chairman of the National Governor's Association, arguably the most powerful lobbyist group in DC and definitely making him first among all governors in the US--and authoritarian Republicans usually prefer governors over Senators as their nominee;

* Then, when he was in a position to generate dirt on all other governors AND all US Senators, he announced his candidacy...

... And then he became Donald Trump's bitch.

That's not as stupid a move as one might think. If any Republican is going to win this time around, it's Trump, and Trump is a foolish person with a prior track record of destruction, failure, narcissist's moments of self-loathing clarity, and illicit activity. Clearly, Christie has taken notes from House of Cards.

So Christie is still a master of positioning, this time placing himself to be in position to inherit it all when President Trump implodes.

but only after he was made by the Bush administration and given access to the republican agenda. By it he learned all about the dirty tricks and became a master of those tricks himself.Make no mistake Christie is a dangerous man. I tell you what he reminds me of, he reminds me of that German commercial co pilot that crashed the airliner in the mountains in the south of France. If anybody really believes that wacko would just fold up his tent and retreat into privet practice having become a political pariah ,than such people must not know about that vindictive piece of work that lurks within him. And Christie is no lone wolf when it comes down to that-for him and his type that is a way of life. And people hate that. When they think they have been wronged and it matters not if they really were or not ,they seek revenge. The George Washington bridge lane closures was a revenge motivated plot orchestrated straight out of Christie's
very own operational hand book which was no doubt piped into his appointees both consciously and sub consciously.

That's why Christie kept them cooped up in a little office right next to his for a spell before he sent then off to their appointment assignments. Does the Christie operational hand book actually exist ? Will they admit to it if it does ? Sooner or later no doubt.

Christie's days of political maneuvering are just about over.
All Christie ever wanted to be is a politician since his early youth. And all that German commercial airline co pilot ever wanted to do is be a commercial air line pilot . He started out in gliders as a cub scout.

Those vindictive revenge motivated dudes are nothing but trouble.

Because he's humiliating the hell out of him, and Christie, who was one of the biggest bullies ever, is just taking it. I don't think Trump has promised Christie anything in exchange for his endorsement and his obsequious groveling; Christie's endorsement and three bucks will get you a small latte at Starbuck's. I think Trump has some really dirty dirt on him - not escapades with live boys or dead girls or sheep, but something that will result in Chris taking up a new line of work involving the hand-crafting of license plates. Both of those guys are almost certainly mobbed up, and Trump's people put the proverbial horse's head in Christie's bed, I think.

I'd rather he work in the kitchen prison making beans, although this suggests that his fellow inmates won't get many beans to eat, as the cook will have eaten all of them.

You may be right that bad hair boy has something on him though.

A lot of us here in New Jersey are wondering what the hell Christie's doing, but we don't really care. We rather like it when he's out of state.

As Hillary wondered on that hot mic conversation with Matthews, does Christie have some campaign debt that he hopes Trump will help him to pay off? I don't understand why someone with Christie's bluster and personality would put up with Trump's rudeness.
