Hillary Clinton Begins Running Ads Against Donald Trump: 'Love Trumps Hate'
Source: NOLA.com March 17, 2016 at 11:49
Both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have released new online ads this week. The ads directly target the other candidate at a time when both are gaining momentum with primary wins. Clinton's new ad on Facebook features clips from a speech she gave, combined with clips of Trump giving speeches and TV interviews. It also includes clips of violence at Trump's rallies.
"Donald Trump is running a cynical campaign of hate and fear," Clinton says at the beginning of the ad.
Trump's video on Instagram features Vladimir Putin and what appears to be a fighter for the Islamic State group. It says that "when it comes to facing our toughest opponents, the Democrats have the perfect answer," then cuts to footage of Clinton barking like a dog a clip from earlier this year.
Clinton's campaign hasn't commented on it, but Putin's spokesman criticized it Thursday morning.

(10,279 posts)that he is pulling forces out of Syria and substantially cutting the Russian space program. Seems that Mr. Putin was not monitoring the rate at which he was expending cash and the declining revenues for oil. The bills are piling up for the Olympic games, the Crimea annexation and sanctions, invasion of Ukraine, military spending and adventures in Syria. He can't pay his credit card bills. Trump's hero -- Mr. Putin -- has driving Russia into economic depression because of his stupid management. The same management that Trump would give USA and with the same result.

(30,613 posts)Every time he opens his mouth, makes a screwed-up 12-year-old bully face, and says "Punch him in the face!" or something equally insane, he's creating another clip for her to use.

(7,769 posts)Bernie Sanders on Donald Trump: 'Love trumps hatred'
MILTON Just 12 hours before the polls open on Super Tuesday, Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders urged Massachusetts voters to support his self-described "political revolution."
"Your state led the American Revolution. Now it is time for Massachusetts to lead the political revolution," Sanders told a crowd of 3,600 people in a packed gym at Milton High School.
Sanders used his final speech before Massachusetts voters go to the polls to draw contrasts between his policies and those of his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton and Republican frontrunner Donald Trump.
"We are going to beat Donald Trump because we know that bringing people together trumps divisiveness," Sanders said. "We will defeat Donald Trump because we know that love trumps hatred."

Just amazing how she had to steal this and "evolve" to his positions.
Ack.

(29,279 posts)campaign is about hate, and that his campaign is about love. I will never forget that... a politician owning love as the core of his campaign. Just wow. Then Hillary said it 3 days later in her Super Tuesday speech. We'd been busting our butts in Virginia, and hearing her brazenly say that in the middle of that defeat just drove home more a complete lack of integrity: taking the hallmark of a guy's campaign and just stealing it outright. stealingthebern.
Not sure why anyone would object to someone "stealing" such a perspective. Namaskar! Drain the bitterness from your heart! You presuppose you know the soul of Hillary Clinton. How could you?

(29,279 posts)A candidate's positions and the values they make central to their campaign define who they are, thereby providing a contrast for voters to understand.
She sees his popularity, obv., and as a point of fact has adopted a practice lately of outright grabbing his positions and value statements. I am not bitter, I am aware. (are you by chance presupposing about me?)

(1,890 posts)that she steals from Bernie. When you are not progressive you have to steal from the candidate who is progressive. The only people she is fooling are the non-progressives and delusional supporters.

(54,068 posts)- (I) "love Trump's hate" could be an endorsement of his bigotry
- "'Love Trumps' hate" - could be an attack on the hatred of people who love Trump
- "Love Trumps Hate" - could be an indictment of love itself, suggesting that it celebrate (or trumpets) hatred

(5,240 posts)Sure wish she had the courage to vote no when it was unpopular to do so.
Now we have a total crap-storm going on over there.
It is not that her vote would have been enough to stop Bush, but that makes no difference.
She was not on the right side when we needed her to be.
For this I will never forgive her.

(15,224 posts)Look, I get that Bernie supporters don't like Hillary.
But above and beyond that - this ad is sexist and incendiary, and DU should be condemning it. To show a woman "barking" is as obvious an old cliché as how big The Donald's hands are.
Can we not put aside the Hillary hate long enough to simply condemn this type of behavior on the part of Donald Trump?
