Mitt Romney Says He’s ‘Repulsed’ By Donald Trump, Will Vote For Ted Cruz

Source: Huffington Post

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, the 2012 Republican nominee, announced on Friday he would vote for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) in the upcoming Utah caucus and said he was “repulsed” by what Trump had brought into the presidential race.

Romney stopped short of endorsing Cruz, but said that voting for the Texas senator, who is second in the delegate count for the Republican nomination, was the best chance of blocking Trump from winning.

“The only path that remains to nominate a Republican rather than Mr. Trump is to have an open convention. At this stage, the only way we can reach an open convention is for Senator Cruz to be successful in as many of the remaining nominating elections as possible,” Romney wrote on Facebook.

“Today, there is a contest between Trumpism and Republicanism. Through the calculated statements of its leader, Trumpism has become associated with racism, misogyny, bigotry, xenophobia, vulgarity and, most recently, threats and violence,” he wrote. “I am repulsed by each and every one of these.”

That's some pretty selective repulsion. They are both odious, but cruz is the most dangerous.

Trump doesn't seem to believe in anything except himself, so he could be influenced by competent advisers. Cruz is a dangerous religious maniac who is incapable of compromising. The thought of him as president makes my blood run cold.

100% agree on the first 2 sentences. Don't agree with the last, though. Think Donald is more dangerous because he would destroy us for his own profit and ego. There's no telling what craziness would happen. Cruz is very dangerous and either one could wreck our world. Why didn't Mittens support someone with a greater level of sanity that krazy klown #2? I don't understand and truly don't care. Mittens is irrelevant and won't move the needle one way or the other.

Understanding Mormonism Theocracy and Dominionism
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/04/06/320237/-Understanding-Mormon-Theocracy-and-Dominionism
snip
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

This passage from Phillipians 2:10,11 KJV is key to understanding dominionist thinking in Christianity. It literally claims that in heaven and earth, everyone will bow and confess Jesus as Lord.

To accomplish this, the Church is the ultimate corporation. Tax free cash in the form of 10% tithing receipts and a male priesthood order that is organized around the world like an Aryan Wehrmacht. Branches, Wards (congregations), Stakes (Dioceces), Regions and Missions with Command Central in Salt Lake City; control businesses, economies, communities and governments through it's sheer organizational prowess, power and outreach. The Church rivals only the Federal government and The Catholic Church in real estate holdings. Because the church does not release any financial reports, no one can accurately determine the wealth and income of The Church.

by calling half the country takers who just want free stuff. I guess demeaning half of the American people who don't make 55K a year, or enough to pay income taxes, but pay all kind of other taxes including sales taxes isn't repulsive. Your just as much to blame for Trump leading your Republican primary as anybody else. You could have taken the high road and set a better example as you ran for president, but your convention and your campaign was filled with a bunch of hate mongering and mild racist innuendo as well, just a little bit more palatable and more politically correct than Trump. And how can we forget your version of a wall, Mr Self Deport. Fuck you and your backwards ass party, because all of you are getting exactly what you deserve....Mr Donald fucking Trump!

I think Mitt is 'repulsed' by whomever his puppet masters decide he's repulsed by depending on the situation.

When will the GOP realize that Romney is not a 'leader' in their party (or anywhere else for that matter), and no one on either side gives a damn what he has to say. It's sad that he's all they got as their 'go to guy'.
