Flint Water Crisis: Three to Face Criminal Charges — Sources

Source: NBC News

As many as three Michigan officials will face criminal charges Wednesday in connection with lead contamination in Flint's municipal water system, multiple government sources said Tuesday.

The sources told NBC News and NBC station WDIV of Detroit that state Attorney General Bill Schuette will announce criminal charges against two employees of the state Department of Environmental Quality and one who works for the City of Flint.

The attorney general's office gave no official indication Tuesday what it would discuss at Wednesday's news conference, where it said Schuette would make a "significant announcement." Among those scheduled to be at the news conference are the Genesee County prosecutor and the chief investigators for the state's Flint water task force.

Attorney General Bill Schuette had appointed former Wayne County Assistant Prosecutor Todd Flood to head the Flint water crisis investigation. Flood was a large contributor to both Snyder AND Schuette. This 'investigation' and these charges are not about bringing justice to the guilty, but about saving Snyder's ass.

What a disingenuous jerk, right along with the Legislature, Justices and now chief law enforcement officer, deflection doesn't work jerk, not in this case, your governor hired a un-elected manager to do this stuff, so no matter how many bottles of bottled water he gets from a Flint house to say he will drink it for a month still does not hide the facts-----------of this/ your propaganda and deceit and deception----------------------------we the taxpayers of this poisoning want some answers, and no matter how the Chaffetz of your right wing world want to blame the EPA, and having a circus in Washington, its not going to help------------------and just a reminder your worthless governor still hasn't done anything, except play with the crayons from your set.......................

3 Charged With Several Crimes in Flint Water Crisis

By DAVID EGGERT, ASSOCIATED PRESS LANSING, Mich. — Apr 20, 2016, 11:12 AM ET

Two state regulators and a Flint employee were charged Wednesday with evidence tampering and several other felony and misdemeanor counts related to the Michigan city's lead-tainted water crisis.

The charges — the first levied in a probe that is expected to broaden — were filed against a pair of state Department of Environmental Quality officials and a local water treatment plant supervisor and stem from an investigation by the Michigan attorney general's office.

Michael Prysby, a DEQ district engineer, and Stephen Busch, who is a supervisor with the DEQ's Office of Drinking Water, were both charged with misconduct in office, conspiracy to tamper with evidence, tampering with evidence and violations of water treatment and monitoring laws.

Flint utilities administrator Michael Glasgow was charged with tampering with evidence for changing lead water-testing results and willful neglect of duty as a public servant.

Busch is on paid leave after being suspended earlier. Prysby recently took another job in the agency. Glasgow testified at a legislative hearing that Prysby told him phosphate was not needed to prevent lead corrosion from pipes until after a year of testing.

while Snyder does photo ops on the morning news drinking a glass of filtered water in Flint. What a dog and pony show.

Snyder's a serial liar. Michigan is becoming an embarrassment.
