Sen. Mark Kirk withdraws support for Trump

Source: Chicago Sun-Times

WASHINGTON – Sen. Mark Kirk R-Ill., facing a big challenge from Rep. Tammy Duckworth D-Ill., said Tuesday he will not support presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump after earlier saying he will back him.

” I cannot and will not support my party’s nominee for President regardless of the political impact on my candidacy or the Republican Party,” Kirk said in a statement.

Kirk’s campaign issued the statement after coming under heavy attack from Duckworth and her allies over Trump, with the pressure growing after Trump blasted a federal judge hearing Trump University fraud cases because he was the son of Mexican immigrants.

Two options:

1. Trump will unload on him for "disloyalty" and scare everyone else.

2. Trump will ignore him and others will think they can get away with it as well.

Probably more worried about her than he is about Trump's bigoted remarks.

Unfortunately Democrats are not reliable voters. But if we get even 50% voter turnout for the Presidential Election then Kirk and a few other of the freshmen Republicans from the class of 2010 will be goners.

For that reason alone, he'd make the WORST Commander-in-Chief imaginable. Can you imagine how easily he could be goaded into making a stupid military mistake?

The man is very easy to ignore - never really made much of an impact one way or the other - just a useless Republican tool.

misogynist, said Mexico sends us rapists, etc. Pardon me if I think this is a political ploy only. Illinois is a reliably blue state, he's pandering.
