Source: CBS

The meeting, scheduled at Sanders' request, will take place just two days after Tuesday's pivotal primary contests, where Hillary Clinton secured the majority of pledged delegates in the Democratic race and clinched the party's presidential nomination.

Sanders wants to meet with the neoliberal third way corporate shill...

My guess is they will discuss Obama's "disastrous" trade policies. Why else would Bernie want to meet with Obama?

Because Obama wishes to be an uncompromising, ineffective, poorly informed admirer of the Pope.

And Obama so doesn't want to be one of the most effective and popular US Presidents and a Nobel prize winner.

Don't get too patronizing with the President of the United States. Just look how this attitude worked for the Republicans.

We don't compromise about standing up against the wars of Hillary in the Middle East. A million people are dead in Iraq, 275,000 dead in Syria and Libya destroyed. This is evil and we stand against it.

He was going to filibuster the Telecom Immunity Act and suddenly didn't. And then he actually voted for it. About the same time Hillary conceded for an offer of Sec. Of State. I truly believe Obama was going to be more of a fighter, not appoint lobbyists to regulatory position and protect constitutional rights but the powers that be persuaded him they could ruin him and just be happy with some incremental change. He must've felt threatened. I wonder how many calls of his were tapped and listened to from 2002-2007.

long term.

Obama can talk sense to a sensible man who's tired but dedicated.

He'll encourage a whole new agenda for Bernie in Congress, along with a progressive strategy for whipping more legislation through.

"Togetha" they're going to talk future legislation, strategize on some power structure changes that Hill will need Congressional help with, keep lines of communications open after the prez leaves.

Google "current Democratic delegate count." Right now you'll get these current totals (which don't include the fact that CA was just called for Hillary in a landslide):

Pledged Delegates    Super Delegates   Total

Clinton                    1,926                  571                2,497

Sanders                  1,615.               048                 1,663

There are only 605 delegates left up for grabs. Sanders cannot reach the 2,383 magic number needed for the nomination, even if you include his superdelegates. Even if he wins every one of those remaining delegates, which is clearly not happening, he still falls short of the 2,383 needed: 1,663 + 605 = 2,268.

It's over.
