Trump slashes TV appearances as advisers clash over controlling his message

Source: MSN/Fox News

Donald Trump, in a sharp shift in strategy, is now refusing to appear on many television outlets, and top advisers who want to limit his exposure are no longer notifying him of every interview request.

According to sources familiar with the campaign, one faction is worried that the constant rounds of interviews entail too much risk of the candidate making mistakes or fanning minor controversies, even though his mastery at driving the media agenda helped power his Republican primary victory.

A series of clashes over these and other tactical questions has caused Trump himself to openly question who is running his campaign, the sources say. And he has expressed anger when he believes his orders aren’t being followed.

On the media front, Trump is no longer appearing on CNN or MSNBC. He is staying off the Sunday talk shows. Nearly all his national television interviews since June 1 have been with Fox News.

I think this is intended to be a positive story, but doesn't that remind you of Dubya? Trumps new team of advisors will handle him by purposely keeping him in the dark?

Phone rings. Paul Manafort answers.

Manafort: Who's this?

Caller: Fox News. We would like to schedule Mr. Trump for a sit down interview with Sean Hannity.

Manafort: Sorry. We have campaign appearances booked solid through the next three weeks.

Hangs up.

Trump: Who was that?

Manafort: That was Rubio. He is still standing on one foot and barking like a dog per your request. He asked if could stop.

Perhaps they can create a bubble where he receives no requests for interviews, they quietly replace his twitter operator with Rinse Priebus, and present him with fake newspaper headlines praising his progress so he does not go off on a tirade against the establishment media.

being controlled and managed for very long. I don't think he has the temperament for that. Now campaigning won't be fun for him anymore.
