Scouts find bag of guns while cleaning up
Source: Omaha World Herald
LEXINGTON A cleanup project by Lexington Boy Scouts turned up more than just a bagful of trash Sunday night as one Scout pulled a sack of firearms from the pond next to the Dawson County Museum.
The Lexington Police Department responded to a call at 6:54 p.m. Sunday from Troop 88 Scoutmaster Bo Berry. Scout Dakota Wigstone and his father, Mark Wigstone, were part of a cleanup project at the pond. The boys were using a hook attached to a pole to reach the trash around the edge of the pond when Dakota located the bag.
Inside was an assortment of firearms.

They were not misplaced, they were not used by responsible citizens.
Normal gun owners keep them in a safe.
Someone or some organization used them for some heavy stuff then dumped them.

(292 posts)Sure it depends a lot on the date of manufacture.
If they were inoperable and not used in any crimes, I could weld them into one hell of a cool sculpture. Thinking "Game of Thrones" style Kingly chair. -or, steampunk robot, or a bad-future My Pretty Pony.

(59 posts)about being a gun lover is, when one of them does something stupid or criminal with a gun, the other gun lovers reclassify them to keep their reputation clean.

after a bit of cleaning, they all fired perfectly fine.

(292 posts)I'm going to answer this under the assumption that its not a joke.
Finding a bag of guns in the water is suspect like... like... Michael Jackson applying to Kids-R-Us...no, like... finding a sales receipt for a large wooden box, a stick tied to a string, and toys, at Michael Jackson's house.
In other words, one can reasonably assume that something very bad happened prior to the discovery.

(37,748 posts)Difficult to be surprised when I realize that the U.S. is consistently the number one manufacture and consistently in the top five purchaser of small arms in the world.
"When a country decides to invest in arms, rather than in education, housing, the environment, and health services for its people, it is depriving a whole generation of its right to prosperity and happiness. We have produced one firearm for every ten inhabitants of this planet, and yet we have not bothered to end hunger when such a feat is well within our reach."
