Trump’s minimum wage two-step confuses business groups, advisers

Source: The Hill

PHILADELPHIA — Donald Trump’s new call to raise the minimum wage has outside experts and even his closest advisers scratching their heads.

This week, Trump said the government should raise the federal minimum wage by roughly one-third, calling for a legal standard of $10 per hour. The federal minimum is currently $7.25 per hour. The Republican presidential nominee has made a series of contradictory comments during his campaign, at times indicating wages are already too high and at other times suggesting a boost is in order.

At the Democratic National Convention this week in Philadelphia, Trump was hammered repeatedly by Democratic speakers for suggesting the minimum wage should be dropped. But now that Trump is recommending a specific wage hike, it’s the right’s turn to gripe.

Trump’s latest position puts him at odds with conservative thinkers and most of the business community, which argues that a government-mandated wage hike would just mean fewer workers as businesses cut costs to meet the new requirement.

As long as Eddie Munster and Bitchy Mitchy control Congress, no reform is possible on practically anything.

He is making it very clear. This is it!

What's left?

If I saw an armed Trump walking down 5th Avenue, I'd run like hell!

I can't remember where the interview was but he said that he changed his mind because he was out campaigning and talking to people and he realized they couldn't get by on what they were making.

If I find the link I'll come back and post it.

Here is our problem: For the past 50 years, stupid racists have voted against their own best interests because Republicans offer them what they really care about--social inequality--in exchange for low wages and social immobility for themselves (and everyone else).

We don't want these mooks in our own party. But it would be absolutely great if social conservatives could be pried away from the economic tyrants. Democrats assume a majority and get to land on the side of the knuckledraggers to help elevate economically distressed Americans, and land on the side of the non-racist Republicans (if such a thing exists) against the social conservatism of the racists.

My friend was a manager at a Jack in the Box, he said they had to count the tomatoes that were delivered by box. Some drivers were taking out one or two tomatoes out of each box. Companies are now all computerized and have a very good handle on their costs, down to a penny. Portion control, inventory control,
I know, I worked as an assistant manager for a large chain.
