Ex-GOP senator urges RNC to replace Trump

Source: The Hill

August 09, 2016, 09:53 pm

Former Sen. Gordon Humphrey (R-N.H.) is urging Republican leaders to replace GOP nominee Donald Trump, Politico reported.

Humphrey, a strong critic of the GOP nominee, wrote a letter Tuesday to New Hampshire's three representatives to the Republican National Committee encouraging them to take the party's nominee off the ticket.
He argued that Trump's comments at a rally earlier Tuesday, where he appeared to joke about gun owners taking action against Hillary Clinton. was "the last straw."

"If this is not the straw that breaks the camel's back, if this outrage is not sufficient to inspire courage in the Republican leadership, not just Reince Priebus but Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan, then surely the Republican Party has lost its moral conscience," he said in a phone interview with Politico.

Sensitive enough to detect its presence. So, it may exist but seems to have no effect on anything else.

Either they continue following the megalomaniacal toddler and go down in stunning defeat, or they scuttle him and enrage legions of the toddler's followers--and go down in stunning defeat.

Impossible dilemma for them, and richly deserved.

Long shot, to be sure, but one never knows... Hillary will play ball with the GOP establishment. Trump will be looking for payback.

Remember when Saddam Hussein took control of the Baath party and gave a speech where he called out all the people who stood opposed to him? They were escorted out of the building by his goons and never seen again.

This is what Trump's GOP opponents fear, maybe not literally but figuratively.

Way to the right, was first elected as part of the debacle that was Jimmy Carter's 1978 mid-terms. In itself this won't faze many people, but is another sure sign that the Republicans here understand what is in store for them in November.

And your Chickens have come home to roost-so to say. Trump is just a creation of the GOP that likely started around 2006 or so with the Tea party movement. You should have stopped people in the GOP like Palin from fanning the flames of hatred over the years. Instead you let them run amok. Sane voices in your party just sat on their hands--- and now here we are.
