Source: CBC

A power outage is affecting thousands of customers in the eastern part of Toronto's downtown tonight.

Toronto Hydro reported that the outage is bounded by Carlton Street to the north, Queens Quay to the south, York Street to the west and Bayview Avenue to the east.

Hydro spokeswoman Jennifer Link says about 6,500 customers are affected by the outage, which began at about 8:15 p.m. ET.

Shortly before 11 p.m., the utility's Twitter feed said the power would likely be restored in three to four hours.
