FBI questioned American Muslims in 8 states over weekend about possible pre-election terror, says civil rights group

A civil rights organization for American Muslims says the FBI questioned Muslims in at least eight states over the weekend seeking information about a possible threat from al-Qaeda to carry out pre-election terrorist attacks.

The individuals were asked a series of eight questions, including several specific to al-Qaeda, said Hassan Shibly, a lawyer and the executive director of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) Florida.

He said his clients were asked if they knew the al-Qaeda leaders killed in U.S. military airstrikes last month, who U.S. officials believe were connected to the alleged plot, and if they knew of anyone who wished to cause harm to Americans at home or abroad.

Among those questioned, according to Shibly were a youth group leader and several wealthy doctors. Shibly said he was not aware of anything that connected the targeted individuals to each other or to the alleged threat, aside from their religion and ethnicity. It appeared only Muslims of Afghani and Pakistani descent were questioned, he said.

8. This is a little troubling. It could depress Muslim voter turnout on election day.

Unfortunately Comey's actions and the rogue FBI agents working for him make it impossible to know if their motives are strictly related to security. This is why Comey may have to resign after the election.

9. I'm sorry to say, but I have to agree with you!

This is really suspicious and given our recent exposure to all the nonsense going on within the FBI, it no longer seems outside the realm of possibility that the FBI is trying to scare Muslims from the Polls. We already know right wing kooks are threatening to stop people from voting. Who hears investigative conduct like this from the FBI garnering publicity? If they were conducting an operation, they wouldn't want to tip off possible suspects. This smells fishy! What about all those right wing militias threatening to march on Washington? Are we hearing of any FBI agents knocking on doors about this?

They are the ones actually issuing death threats and promising to cause mayhem if their orange turd doesn't win. Why hasn't the FBI been investigating these nutcases who are almost 100% sure to break out in violence if they don't get their way.
