Fox's Shepard Smith Condemns Trump's "Belittling And Delegitimizing" Of CNN Journalist

Source: Media Matters

SHEPARD SMITH (HOST): President-elect Trump today told CNN's Jim Acosta that his organization amounts to fake news. CNN's exclusive reporting on the Russian matter was separate, and distinctly different from the document dump executed by an online news property.

Though we at Fox News cannot confirm CNN's report, it is our observation that its correspondents followed journalistic standards, and that neither they nor any other journalist should be subjected to belittling and delegitimizing by the president-elect of the United States.

you know that after January 20, we will see the sort of purge that would've made Stalin cringe. It sure helps that Trump has inspiration and a loyal set of teachers, ranging from Steve Bannon, a.k.a. the 21st centuries Heimlich Himmler, to Rex Tillotson's personal friend in Moscow, Vladimir Rasputin. Why do you think that making Kelly made sure to get the hell out of Fox when she could, because she knew Roger Ailes was going to put her neck on the block as well as anyone else, I do mean anyone else the new regime is unhappy with.

Mr. Smith, you better hope there is a spot open at MSNBC.

I'm sure every other news agency knows their time is coming at the first hint that damages Trump, including Fox. I can imagine a time when Trump ends the traditional daily press briefing.

With all the others jumping ship lately, why doesn't he go? He is going to be lumped in with the other vermin if he doesn't go soon.

Or, maybe he just isn't as cool a person as I give him credit for being.

It sounds like Fox, through Smith, is taking the defensive road, preparing for inevitable future incoming when Trump and his pack of attack hyenas are displeased.

IIRC, early in the Obama administration, it appeared as though Fox was being cold-shouldered at press conferences. The other networks (including CNN) all said they'd have no part of any further press conferences unless assurances were made that Fox would be treated the same as the others.

The image of multiple Gannons/Guckerts all poised in the press seats is an image that I will remove with a hefty dose of single-malt.

We all know that the Trump Empire is build on sex. The Greeks weren't bad at it, nor the Romans, nor everyone else - just before the hordes that had *real* needs came to visit.

Republicans fox TV adds to the spectacle. They're enablers. fox had trump 'call in interviews almost daily and they never asked him a legit question.
