REVEALED: Pro-Trump trolls made vile Rape Melania sign to discredit protesters
Source: Raw Story
Last year, a sign at an anti-Trump rally that read Rape Melania drew widespread condemnation from across the political spectrum.
However, text messages obtained by BuzzFeed reveal that the sign was actually created by Jack Posobiec, a notorious pro-Trump troll who wanted to use the sign to discredit opposition to the president-elect.
In one text message conversation, Posobiec and a collaborator brainstormed messages to chant out during the protest in the hopes that unwitting demonstrators would pick them up.
One top suggestion they came up with was Rape Melania, which eventually made its way into a sign.

(7 posts)He had the sign pointed to the Camera, so no one noticed at first. The Washington Post who originally reported on the story spoke with protesters who were there and as soon as they saw what was written asked him to leave.
I hope Obama has the Secret Service question this guy.
I read the original Buzzfeed piece, and it said Posobic also went to a protest in Baltimore right before this, and did the same thing: he incited the protestors to start shouting Assassinate Trump, and as soon as he could recorded it on video.
He's dangerous, and I'm surprised Twitter hasn't suspended him, look what happened with the gunmen at Comet Ping Pong?

(70,103 posts)the trolls all insisted that it was the lefties who started the fighting, which was far from a riot anyway. blamed it on the "bernie bros" who were their own creation anyway.
but i doubt it. a lot of my friends were there, and they are the sort that escort flies and spiders from the premises rather than squish them.
projection. all they have is projection.

(41,963 posts)I know many women who are going, some of whom are taking kids. I'm very very glad they are and wish I could. But O'Keefe's tape alarmed me, and the fact that they are going to have to rely entirely on Metro to get there (buses can't get near the place) leaves them vulnerable and perceived targets. I put NOTHING past the deplorables.
That said I am behind them all the way, with money and support in any way I can give it. I'd be at the local one except for a physical issue that keeps me from it right now. Hopefully it will be ongoing and I can jump in later.

(58,785 posts)act out in that way will be very badly outnumbered that day. Plus, police and security will be out in force, and these days everyone carries a phone. There certainly will be no organized attacks on women, which would backfire very badly.
Remember the fears posted here about attacks on voters on election day, the dangers of voter lines? Threats from conservative blow-hards to follow busses to prove they were going from state to state, and worries that crowds of old people might be attacked at their destinations?
It'll be okay. That said, if I can find it I'll take the pepper spray I bought to use on aggressive dogs when I was appraising. Because I have it, not because I actually expect to need it. That would be shocking.

Former British Spy Christopher Steele Prepared Explosive Trump Memo
by HANS NICHOLS and KEN DILANIAN
An explosive 35-page memo on Donald Trump's relationship with Russia, which contains unverified allegations and which Trump called a "complete fabrication" Wednesday, was written by a former British intelligence officer working for Orbis Business Intelligence, Ltd., two people familiar with the matter told NBC News.
Separately, Rohit Kachroo, security editor for NBC News British partner ITV News, reported that the man's name is Christopher David Steele, a former officer with MI6 who was posted to Moscow in 1990. The memo was originally generated on behalf of Republican opponents of Trump's but was later shopped to the media by Democrats.
...snip
Steele's whereabouts were not known Thursday, and intelligence analyst Glenmore Trenear-Harvey said it was "perfectly plausible" the ex-spy could be in hiding in fear of retaliation from the Russian government.
"Look what happened to Litvinenko," he said. "Putin has form... Such things have happened in the past."

(33,982 posts)Cops have been doing this to Union protestors for decades and decades. Oldest trick in the book; a provocateur.
I go to a rally, I take lots of pictures. Especially of any people asked to leave. These days, someone will be able to identify the creep eventually.

(53 posts)At least they didn't pose as a protester and punch a trump supporter for the camera - which is also a typical tactic.
