Big security risks in Trump feud with spy agencies, officials say

By Warren Strobel and John Walcott | WASHINGTON

An unprecedented pre-presidential inauguration feud between Donald Trump and intelligence agencies that soon will be under his command could harm U.S. security if not quickly defused, current and former government officials said.

They said morale at the CIA and other agencies was already sagging because of disputes with Trump over whether Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered interference in the U.S. election and over leaks about an unsubstantiated dossier compiled by a private security firm suggesting Moscow had compromising information on Trump.

Unless addressed, the disputes could prompt the departure of personnel and lead those who remain to take fewer risks to counter security threats, the officials said.

A top official at one intelligence agency said a growing number of intelligence officers over the age of 50 and with at least 20 years of service, including at least five years overseas, have drafted and in many cases signed but not dated their resignation letters.

Dammit, I hope this doesn't happen. Then who will keep an eye on Pee Boy and his evil minions?

of our security agencies. But the idea that Trump is willing to blow up our entire security apparatus for no reason except they disagree with him and with no plan beyond "Trump smash!" scares the living crap out of me.

And likely has a number of other countries jumping for joy.

He gets a purge without it appearing to be a purge. Then people loyal to him and that are willing to do his bidding get promoted.

I guess though, if they stay, piss him off, and get fired, that could be problematic for them in a number of ways.

These people could block his and Russia's plans so they have to go. I'm sure Putin has a lot of suggestions for people that the orange assface could put in those jobs!
