Burr says Intel panel will investigate possible Russia-Trump links

Source: Politico

Senate Intelligence Chairman Richard Burr says the committee would use “subpoenas if necessary” to secure testimony from Obama administration officials.

Senate Intelligence Chairman Richard Burr (R-N.C.) said late Friday that his committee would investigate possible contacts between Donald Trump’s campaign and Russia, reversing himself one day after telling reporters that the issue would be outside of his panel’s ongoing probe into Moscow’s election-disruption efforts.

In a statement issued jointly with the committee’s top Democrat, Virginia Sen. Mark Warner, Burr said the committee would use “subpoenas if necessary” to secure testimony from Obama administration officials as well as Trump’s team on Russia’s cyberattacks and on other efforts at election meddling.

They'll take their sweet time, move like molasses in winter, and then, after a year or so, determine there was "no material impact on the 2016 election by Russian state actors or any other parties."

and voter suppression and the FBI and the Russians and non voters and 3rd party voters acting like snot nosed little jackasses (oops, did I mention them already?), it is too god damn LATE.

This wont result in anything unless impeachment in which case we get Pence, who is basically as bad or WORSE than Trump on all issues other than blowing us all up.

We had our chance, YOU had your chance (collective 3rd party voting and non voting you) and you fucking BLEW IT.

being in the House, watch how he squeals to the press over the weekend trying to shut this down. He has already gone on record to protect Trump and his allies from any investigative harm.

Hopefully Burr and Warner shove it up Chaffetz's rear end. The Political life of the Republican Party is at stake and Certain Senators are very aware because they tend to be more POLL sensitive than their friends in the House.

Going to be interesting.

The one benefit that Dems do have with this new Congress - at least in the Senate (by gaining 2 seats), is that the split of seats between the parties is closer to being equal on the various committees... I.e., if a committee normally has 15 members, 8 may be GOP and 7 would Democrat.

I think if the weasel has any desire to be a Utah Senator he will wait his turn and defer to the bigger boys (and girls) in the Senate.

the GOP is getting tired of defending tRump already?

The deal here is that the entire RNC was involved, which means that Pence has to go, too. So they have to make it look like tRump acted alone in order to get their man Pence where they want him.

Patriotism - pursuing the truth wherever it may lead - would help them,
so I think this investigation is going forward in a solid way.

Good news after several weeks of 'nothing to see here, move along'
