Black lawmakers consider boycotting Trump's inauguration en masse after attack on John Lewis

Black lawmakers are considering staying away from Donald Trump’s Friday inauguration after the president-elect attacked civil rights icon Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) over the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday weekend.

According to Buzzfeed News, the Congressional Black Caucus has not discussed a full boycott and is leaving it up to individual members to decide whether they would attend, with an official statement from the group due on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

On Saturday Trump hit back at Lewis, who questioned the legitimacy of Trump’s presidency in an interview with NBC, tweeting attacks at the civil rights hero, claiming the congressman is all “talk, talk, talk – no action or results. Sad!”

According to Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA), she will not attend now — nor will Reps. Lewis, John Conyers (D-MI) and Lacy Clay (D-MO).

Forget about what he did to her, they are legitmizing a madman, who insults all of our leaders and checks and balances.

I, won't watch one second of this sad travesty. Russia stealing the election and installing a stupid, childish, spoiled brat who only cares for his personal wealth and power. The sky is falling doesn't nearly get to the depths of my concerns about what he will do to us and the world.

In fact, since Trump won I am in my own boycott mode. I will not look at him on tv, I will not listen to him or any of his team, cabinet members, repub Congress members on tv or radio. I only read about what is going on period. The next four years is going to be very bad. And if Trump is impeached or resigns? Pence, the radical RWNJ religious repub, will be way worse.

I never saw not heard him, except for the one clip of him as a deer-in-the-headlights, reading to kids as the planes crashed into the towers. That played momentarily over and over so I accepted it. But other than that I never saw nor heard the man, although I kept up with the real news better than my neighbors. Maybe not better than most DU'er, though, but it can be done.
