Kushner in talks with Bush-Cheney veteran for WH job, sources say

Source: CNN

(CNN)A veteran of the Bush-Cheney White House, Neil Patel, is in talks with President-elect Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, to work with him in the White House, according to sources with knowledge of the transition.

A source close to the discussions told CNN that Kushner informally offered Patel a position, and both agreed it's contingent on them meeting in person to discuss the details.

A transition official said that Patel had met with Kushner, but it was one of many meetings Kushner has had.

A lawyer, Patel served as chief policy adviser to former Vice President Dick Cheney. Republicans who know Patel consider him "extremely smart and capable" and have told CNN that he is "a serious policy person," who would be an asset to Kushner and the Trump White House.

Considering that JK is asking Patal, who worked for Dick Cheney, to come and work in the Trump White House JK might be worse than Donald Trump. It seems a number of people on DU think JK and Ivanka are some how these big liberals because they donated money to Democratic candidates. Many people who do not have Democratic ideals give money to Democratic candidates because they realize Democrats are in power and the donors still want to be able to get favors. JK and Ivanka lived in New York City. There was very little chance that a Republican would win an election in New York City, or win a Senate seat from New York state.

Look at where JK and Ivanka stand. It is very possible that they are much more conservative than DT. It has been said that JK was the one who supported picking Mike Pence as VP. It can be argued that he was just trying to win the White House for DT, but he could have supported a more moderate politician for Vice President and then worked on getting more votes from moderate voters.

I think liberals have been conned by JK and Ivanka just like conservatives have been conned by DT. Look at the lives these two people lived. Look at their families. These are two people who are third generation rich. They are living lives of luxury based on the actions of their grandfathers. It is likely these two never had to work summers at the local McDonald's. Now, there is nothing wrong with being born rich and not having to work at McDonald's. The problem is JK and Ivanka may not have been taught to have compassion for those who have less than them. It is very likely that they feel the exact opposite. JK may use his time in the White House to protect what he and Ivanka's families have built. That may end up coming at the expense of many who have less than them.

I know it has been clear for weeks now that Donald Trump had no intention to drain the swamp of Washington, D.C., but this is just another action that shows the swamp will not be drained. All the same insiders are being brought back into government.
